June 2015 Meeting Minutes

June 18, 2015

June’s meeting was held at The Brickyard and the featured speakers were Alex Morrison, Executive Director at Macon-Bibb Urban Development Authority, and Susannah Maddux, Owner at Goods PR, on the topic of the Macon Action Plan.  Also visiting for the first time was Phyllis Lowe from Geico.

Discussion:

• May Chapter minutes approved.
• President Daniel Brown discussed updated information on the requested association with the Savannah Chapter.  Discussions are in progress with chapters in Alabama who have undergone associations with sub-chapters to gain insight from their experiences.
• Denise Bowman provided updates on this year’s P&C Industry Day (I-Day).
  • The GA Sports Hall of Fame has been officially booked for October 22, and the full funds have been paid for the rental.
  • Confirmed Speakers to Date:
    • Clay Capps (The Sanford Company) speaking on Supplemental Commercial Programs
    • Dave Pushman (Tidwell & Hilburn Insurance & former GEICO RVP) speaking on Cyber Security
    • Rob Ezold (Rimkus Consulting) speaking on Fraud.
• Our guest speakers presented an overview of the Macon Action Plan.

The next meeting will be held at The Brickyard on July 16^th at 11:30.  Our guest speaker will be a GEICO Training Manager on the topic of learning styles.
