Middle GA CPCU Chapter-June Meeting Minutes

Attendence: 22 members

Old Business:

• Prior minutes are approved.

• CPCU t-shirt orders are due as soon as possible to lock in the current price.

• Regional Leadership meeting in Atlanta attended by members of the board and officers, Denise, Tammy, Candi, Katie and Vicki.

• Continuing education credits need to be reported by all CPCUs.Webinars offered by The Institutes are automatically reported.However other activities must be manually entered by the designation holder. The learning center on the CPCU Society website has ample supply of CE credit options.

• Congratulations to past Chapter President, Daniel Brown and his wife Jessica.They welcomed a new baby girl on June 11^th.

New Business

• The next Board meeting will be held August 3^rd.Items to discuss include possible increase of chapter dues, schedule of events for the remainder of 2017, Circle of Excellence outlook, more defined structure of Chapter Board, i.e. their duties and roles, implement conference attendance schedule between Annual Meeting and Leadership Summit.

• The Board voted to begin sending a representative from our chapter to the Annual Meeting.Ideally, it will be the president elect for the upcoming year.Guidelines around attendance from this point forward will be discussed during the upcoming board meeting.

• I-Day Chair, Katie Snow held planning meeting. I-Day will be held at the Armory Ballroom Thursday October 26, 2017.A volunteer for a Sponsor Chair is needed that can take our existing list of sponsors and expand on it with new leads.

• If you need a new or updated name tag, please see Candi to have one ordered.

• We’ve had a speaker from Olivet College reach out wanting to come speak to us about their MBA program in Insurance.They do offer credit for CPCU. More info can be found at this link https://www.olivetcollege.edu/graduate/admissions/#requirements

• Mike Lawrence displayed a sample of the chapter’s annual sponsorship paperweights.Each one will come with a link to our website and a request to like us on Facebook.

• Next meeting is August 17th at The Brickyard.Guest speaker will be LaTonya Parker, Assistant Dean of Students for Diversity and Inclusion at Wesleyan College.
