Lifetime memberships in the Chapter were awarded to Joell Reott and Mike Lawrence. Congratulations to both!

New Business

The Chapter is hosting a free cookout for members and their families on Saturday, August 20th, at Amerson Park, in the Atlanta Gas/Light Pavillion and playground.  Bring the kids from 8am-2pm.  An invitation will be sent electronically. If you can bring a covered dish and/or a cooler/ice, let an officer know!  The park rental was $100 and we expect the chapter to spend another $100 on grilling supplies.  Please plan to attend for good food and lots of fun!

P&C I-Day at the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame is shaping up!  Sponsors include GFB and GEICO (both at the $1,500 level) as well as Enterprise and Paces.  I-Day speakers will include Lee Perkins on retirement preparation, Jon Morgan on identity theft, and Lynn Mathis (tentative) on film/TV risks in Georgia.  Satterfields will cater breakfast and lunch.

A "Family Feud"-style competition between GFB and GEICO at I-Day is being planned and players are needed!  If you want the opportunity to compete, contact an officer. This competition will benefit local charities.

A press release for P&C I-Day will be drafted. We are considering offering local students discounted or free admission.  Also under consideration is a $500 scholarship to a local student.

Upcoming:

There is no meeting (except for the cookout !) planned for August.  When appropriate, the Chapter will seek product donations from businesses to have as door prizes at the monthly meetings. Must be present to win!

Project Giving sent an email to the Chapter thanking us for previous support of Retro Night Glow and requesting support for this year.  This will be considered.

Please contact any officer with ideas, suggestions or concerns about I-Day, the Amerson cookout, or any other chapter-related topic or function! Hope to see you at the cookout on August 20th!
