January’s Middle GA CPCU Society Chapter Meeting was held on January 22, 2019 at the Rookery in Macon, GA. There were 19 members in attendance. Our speaker was set to be Jennifer McFarland, but due to a car accident, she will attend a future meeting.

New Business

The 2019 CPCU Chapter Officers and Board of Directors were introduced.

  • Hope Smith – Secretary

  • Angie Madison – Treasurer

  • Mike Lawrence – Board Director

  • Tammy Parker – Board Director

  • Denise Bowman – Immediate Past President

Venue Selection Process

The Rookery was able to offer a room free of charge if we met on Monday or Tuesday. Meetings will be held on the 4th Tuesday of the month with the exception of May and November due to holidays.

Prices for meals are within budget so we don’t have to raise our meeting costs.

Ethics Month

Ethics month is in March. We need ideas. Mike is working on an idea and will need a good internet connection.

The prize is $500 for our chapter.

CPCU Leadership Summit Meeting

Hope will be attending the meeting in Denver this year.

The ethics winner will be announced.

Circle of excellence results will be announced. We filed for platinum with 203 points.

I-Day

If anyone has certain topics they’d like covered, please let us know.

Discussed moving I-day due to storm season.

Atlanta I-Day tickets are offered at a discount. Anyone interested in going, let someone on the board know. It is typically held in August. We discussed sending reps from our chapter to get ideas.

Our next meeting will be February 26, 2019 at the Rookery.
