February 2018 Meeting Minutes

February’s Middle GA CPCU Society Chapter Meeting was held on February 15, 2018 at the Brickyard Golf Club in Macon, GA. There were 17 members in attendance. Our speaker was Wes Peavy, Master Gardener with the Macon-Bibb County Extension Office.

Old Business:

  • Charitable Donation Requests

    • Open submission period through March 31st.

    • Submit request form for review. Link to form can be found on the chapter website.

    • One charity will be selected for a monetary donation and other submitted charities will be reviewed for other possible donation types.

    • We have received a “Thank-you” card from the Macon Rescue Mission for December’s donation, which was collected at the CPCU Christmas Social.

  • Fundraising

    • Need a volunteer for a fundraising chairperson to take suggestions/ideas and turn them into plans!

  • Chapter Website

    • Need a volunteer to update chapter website and keep up to date during the year.

    • Contact at the Society will provide assistance

New Business:

  • All year end documents have been submitted to National on time

    • COE Submission – We have submitted our entry for the Platinum Level Circle of Excellence and should be notified if we met the goal in May.

    • 2019 Operating Plan

    • Chapter Leader Form

  • I-Day Update

    • Moved to Friday, October 19th, confirmed.

    • All speakers confirmed

    • Will contact DOI to have Commissioner speak, if possible. Will also invite the candidates for upcoming Commissioner to speak, as well.

  • ServPro Macon Charity Golf Tournament

    • May 21, 2018 @ The Brickyard

    • $250 Sponsorship – a vote was taken at the luncheon to donate to sponsor at the $100 level. Upon further review by the board after the meeting, it was decided that we would sponsor at the $250 level.This level will include hole sponsorship and banner recognition.

  • Ethics Mock Mediation Update – 3 hours of CE

    • GFB has agreed to allow us tu use their auditorium for the presentation

    • Event will take place near the end of March and is open to anyone who is in need of CE Credit Hours.

    • Cost is $15/per person.

The Mock Mediation presentation will take the place of March’s luncheon, and we will notify all Chapter Members of the date ASAP.
