The August 2018 Middle GA CPCU Society Chapter's Meeting was held on 8/16/2018 at Jeneane's at Pinebrook from 11:30 am - 1:00 PM. There were 19 members in attendance.
June Meeting Minutes were not available for approval due to issues with the CPCU site. Vicki has contacted CPCU National to have her rights restored.

- Need a volunteer for a fundraising chairperson to take suggestions/ideas and turn them into plans!

Vicki Shepard discussed the I-Day Speakers that have been booked (Rich Wickliffe, Richard Hart, and Tonya Parker). We are awaiting news on which speaker Rimkus will send.

Registration for I-Day will open on September 4 and early bird pricing ($40) will be available until October 4th. Prices will go to $45 after that date.

Reminded everyone that the contest was still on for Volunteer Points within the Chapter.

If you would like to volunteer for I-Day, please let someone on the Board know.

There is a new Student Membership for CPCU. Eligibility requirements are as follows:

Students must be enrolled in a full-time associate, undergraduate, or graduate program at a community college or university.

Students will be required to submit an application verifying eligibility.

CPCU National will implement a nominal annual fee of $20.

Chapter leaders will need to determine what fee - if any - they wish to charge students to join their chapter

Current Gamma lota Sigma students will retain their free membership

The Society will start accepting student members in 2019

Our guest speaker for this month was Michael Lemon, Attorney at Law. He spoke on current workers' compensation law and trends. Meeting was adjourned at 1 PM.
Next meeting will be on September 20, 2018, at Jeneane's at Pinebrook. The guest speaker will be Susan Garrett, of Navicent Health.
