August 2017 CPCU Board Meeting Minutes
This Board Meeting was held at Georgia Farm Bureau on 8/3/2017 from 10:30 am – 12:00 pm. Members in attendance were: Denise Bowman, Katie Snow, Vicki Shepard, Mike Lawrence, Tammy Parker, and Candi Faulk.
TOPICS OF DISCUSSION
Dues:

Middle GA CPCU Chapter dues are currently $45. The board voted unanimously to increase to $50 for the upcoming year.

Katie will contact CPCU Member Services to determine how to handle lifetime membership payments. We need to know when they are paid, how much, etc.
Officer Attendance for CPCU National and Regional Meetings:

Leadership Summit – Current Chapter Secretary attends with the intention of continuing with a leadership role in the chapter.

Regional Leadership Summit – Mike is verifying how often this will occur. If it is once every three years, we will send all officers and directors. If every year, we will send the President and Treasurer.

Annual Meeting – Current VP will attend with the intent of occupying the role of President the following year. This will also serve as an incentive bonus for chairing I-Day for the current year.
Roles and Responsibilities:

VP will be responsible for chairing I-Day and selecting sub-committee chairs.
Customizable Handout from National Society:
-
Denise will contact National to see about getting our own customizable hand-out to be used to promote our chapter and its value to prospective members.
Charity Requests:
-
During the board’s initial meeting following election, a list of charities will be compiled by both the board and chapter members. Charities for the year will be pre-selected and attempts to obtain speakers from those organizations will be made.

We will have an open submission period for chapter members to submit their preferred charity’s info.
Fundraising:
-
Potential Chapter fundraising ideas were discussed, including a golf tournament, to raise money for a possible internship/scholarship fund for college students. We will discuss this more at a later date. Mike Lawrence will head up our efforts in this area.
Election Plan for 2018:

Election process should begin mid-October with final election results completed by the end of November.

December will be used for the year-end wrap-up/transition.

We will use e-ballots again this year.
New Designee Acknowledgement:
-
We have decided to recognize the new designees at the Christmas Social.

Completers and their family will be invited to the social.

Completers will be presented with a Chapter Nametag and another small token decided on by the board.

Katie Snow will chair this event.
